The Brain Plasticity Clinic is a Rehabilitation Medicine practice based at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. The brain has an incredible capacity for healing. We specialise in the clinical application of emerging neuroscience and offer holistic treatments based on the brain’s ability to change in the short and long term. We prioritise integrated patient-centred care.
Jane Malone is a Consultant Rehabilitation Physician with a special interest in neuroplasticity. As a rehabilitation doctor, she has taken care of patients requiring rehabilitation due to brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, neurological illness, Parkinson’s, MS, dementia, trauma, cardio-respiratory disease and cancer. Jane has a longstanding interest in the role of the brain and mind in the response to illness and injury and in 2009 founded the ‘Mind’ SIG (Special Interest Group) of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (Royal Australasian College of Physicians). Jane is a registered yoga and meditation/mindfulness teacher and has seen first hand the real difference an integrated patient-centered approach can make to healing. She relishes tailoring evidence-based care to individual needs. Alongside her Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, Jane is member of the Australian Society for Psychological Medicine, the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association, the Meditation Association of Australia and Yoga Australia.
