We like this study. It’s a 1 year pre-post intervention follow-up of psychological, immune, endocrine and blood pressure outcomes following the introduction of the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to breast and prostate cancer outpatients. The study enrolled 49 patients with breast cancer and 10 patients with prostate cancer and found that participation was associated with enhanced quality of life and decreased stress symptoms. Interestingly, they also found altered cortisol and immune patterns consistent with less stress and mood disturbance, as well as decreased blood pressure. (1)
